What the Future Holds – My Thoughts on the 2026 Dune: Awakening Roadmap

Funcom finally dropped their Dune: Awakening roadmap, and after reading through it, I can honestly say I’m cautiously optimistic. For a game that launched with a rough PvP-focused meta, the roadmap through June 2026 gives hope that the developers are listening Dune Awakening Solari.

Coming this September, we’ll be getting Chapter 2 (Free Update) and the Lost Harvest DLC. If you shelled out for the Deluxe or Ultimate editions, the DLC is free—which is a nice touch—but others will need to buy it or grab the season pass. What caught my eye is the balance between free content (likely main story progression) and paid expansions (which include exclusive missions and cosmetics).

This format continues with Chapter 3 and “Raiders of the Broken Lands” DLC in early 2026, and Chapter 4 with “The Water Wars” by June 2026. The regular cadence is a good sign that Funcom is committing to long-term support.

The only real downside? No major changes to endgame are planned in these updates. That’s a bummer because once you finish gearing up and conquering outposts, the loop can feel shallow. However, the devs did tease quality-of-life changes like salvageable vehicles, adjusted cobalt paste volume, and cargo containers for the Ornithopter.

My hope? These new DLCs will expand the universe enough to make the world feel alive again. Dune is such a rich setting—it deserves more than faction wars and base raiding. Let’s see what September brings Dune Awakening Items.
