Following their thrashing against Newcastle in midweek, David Moyes made five changes to his starting line-up - the most changes he has made to a Premier League side this season.
He said: "It’s good to have momentum if you can and we’ve not had it this season. "It’s great that we are here, to be in Europe at this stage of the season is a big achievement and long may it continue, but every round you play is tough. "I’d love to give the supporters another couple of nights like we did last year and truly I’d like to go further if we can. "For a manager you want to be involved in the big games and hopefully we’ve got a few more to come. "Moyes believes overcoming the Belgian side would give the Hammers some much-needed momentum heading into their vital Premier League run-in.
If we are to survive though, some undeserved wins are going to be required. Gerald: This team needs to play attacking football. How Fulham lost this match with 80% of the ball shows how lucky and boring West Ham have become. Without Rice or Bowen this is a Championship side. With Arsenal's dramatic draw, an inspired win for Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace and three fortuitous points for Spurs, there was plenty for The Far Post podcast's team to discuss after the weekend. Add to that West Ham keeping David Moyes in his job for another week, Fulham looking like they're heading to the beach already, Chelsea's continuing chaos and Thomas Frank's potential suitors, and there's no shortage of talking points in this episode.
It hasn't been pretty of late, let alone for the entire season, but we're picking up crucial points when it matters and that's giving me some hope that we'll survive yet another relegation battle. West Ham are monitoring Manchester United's English right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 25, over the prospect of a summer move. (Football Insider), externalLiverpool want to sign Bristol City's England Under-19 midfielder Alex Scott this summer, but West Ham and Wolves are also interested in the 19-year-old. He told BBC Radio London's The Far Post podcast: "West Ham set up, defended for their lives, changed three of the back four which had been awful in the week, made blocks when they had to, made headers when they had to and the keeper made some great saves.

Perhaps a refreshed Graham Potter could come to the Cottagers next season? West Ham fansFaith: Vital points after a nervy game. Fans were, quite rightly, unhappy with the performance but it just comes down to getting enough points to stay up. We still have Europe to look forward to and a genuine chance of silverware. Hopefully we can get safe in the league and enjoy some European nights under the lights. Tom: A strong and well-earned win! Nice to see Moyes make some changes in both players and tactics which clearly benefitted us. Overall a solid defensive performance. Two more wins to safety! Al: It's hard to say that the point was well deserved considering only an own goal separated the two sides and Fulham could barely get their shots on target. There was nothing here to say West ham's performances are going to get better over the remaining nine games.
"Whether that will change up next year we don't know, but from David's point of view it's a huge relief. "Listen to the full podcast episode on BBC SoundsWe asked for your views on Saturday's Premier League game between Fulham and West HamHere are some of your comments:Fulham fansAidan: Watching that from the stands was very hard. Every single cross was either going to Fabianski or to where nobody was. These are the effects of the Mitrovic red card. Mike: I really can't see where Fulham's next goal is coming from let alone our next point. A very poor end to a season that showed so much promise. Gareth: With the disappointing slump in form since the FA Cup meltdown against Manchester United, surely Fulham have to consider Marco Silva's position? Poor results against relegation candidates in Bournemouth last week and West Ham today have put a dampener on this campaign.
