Carmelo Cimato

Physical Therapist
Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Carmelo earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy from Mercyhurst University, along with a minor in Exercise Science. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. During his doctoral education, Carmelo completed multiple clinical rotations focusing on outpatient orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Additionally, Carmelo spent time volunteering with the Mighty Penguins Strength & Conditioning Organization, an adaptive Sled Hockey team focused on encouraging athletes of different physical and cognitive disabilities.

After graduation, Carmelo obtained a certification in Blood Flow Restriction Training through Northeast Seminars and furthered his knowledge in concussion management and rehabilitation through the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. His primary areas of interest include sports rehabilitation and concussion therapy, primarily due to previous injuries experienced while participating in high school athletics. Carmelo enjoys working with athletes of all ages but particularly Varsity and Collegiate levels due to the higher intensity of competition.

In his free time, Carmelo enjoys spending time with family, friends and his dogs, watching sports (especially the Buffalo Bills), and participating in recreational sports (Soccer and Volleyball).
